How Scanning Works

Point your camera at a card. Loupe identifies it on your device — no internet needed for the first scan, since the starter catalog ships inside the app. If the frame is blurry or has glare, Loupe asks you to retake with the card number in frame. When a card could be more than one printing, Loupe shows the top matches so you pick the exact one — because the printing (holo vs reverse vs normal) is where the value difference lives.

Why Some Cards Show "Not Enough Sold Data"

This is the point of Loupe, not an error. When there aren't at least three recent real sales for a card in its condition, we show "Not enough sold data to price this honestly (n<3)" instead of a made-up number. When there is enough, we show the low, median, and high of what it actually sold for, the number of sales, and the time window, with the data source named.

Raw vs Graded

A raw (ungraded) card and a graded slab are priced separately, because they sell for very different amounts. Any grade you see comes from the sale record ("PSA 10 sold for X"); Loupe does not grade your card or judge whether it is genuine.

Not In The Catalog? Add It By Hand

If a card isn't in the catalog yet — a new promo, a Japanese card, a sports card — you can add it manually. It becomes a first-class card in your collection and is included in set completion; it simply carries no value until data exists for it.

Price Alerts

Price alerts are a Loupe Pro feature. Alerts only ever trigger on real sold prices, never on an estimate. If sold-price data for a card isn't live yet, an alert you create is saved and labeled as activating when that data becomes available.

Subscriptions

Manage or cancel Loupe Pro anytime in your Apple ID settings. To restore a purchase on a new device, use Restore Purchases in Settings after signing in with Apple. Pro unlocks depth (unlimited collection, alerts, full history, bulk export, watermark-free cards); scanning and honest value lookups are always free.

Delete Your Account And Data

Use Delete Account in Settings. It removes your account and related records from our servers, de-identifies any sold-price reports you submitted, and deletes your on-device collection and its iCloud copy. It is immediate and permanent.
